Beauty Bites!: Basic Skincare Tips for Men

Sometimes guys are a little shy about asking for beauty tips as they fear it will make them feel a little less manly. It is definitely understandable but the weather in Singapore can be downright cruel to your skin if you do not look after it properly. Follow these suggestions to make sure your skin stays supple and hydrated, even in the scorching heat.

Sunscreen
Leaving the house without using sunscreen in Singapore is sin. Look for sunscreen with multi-spectrum protection for both UVA & UVB protection as well as Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30. However, in the recent studies, ultraviolet A rays (UVA) increases the skin cancer risk while ultraviolet B rays (UVB) causes wrinkles and pigmentation skin. SPF is only effective in preventing sunburn caused by UVB rays.

Apply sunscreen before leaving your house so that your skin would be able to absorb fully before the exposure. Sunscreen helps to prevent ageing skin too.

Moisturise
Moisturising your face is essential for good skin. It keeps your skin hydrated and fresh, and also prevents wrinkles and laugh lines. Only moisturise after you have cleanse your face.

In addition, your skin is also prone to damage after shaving so, use moisturiser.
